Untreated wood may be affected by grease and colorants. For this reason, we recommend saturating the wood with a suitable wood soap or oil to make it more resistant. Be aware that the wood will change color when applying soap or oil and that wet, untreated oak can leave stains on a surface, like a tabletop or tablecloth, due to the natural tannins that water may extract from the wood. Leather reveals a beautiful patina over time. If you wish to freshen up the color of the leather, you may use a suitable leather grease.
