Materials Enamel

Dishwasher safe, but a hand wash with warm, soapy water is the preferred care method. Use enamel cleaner or scouring cream and a smooth sponge or brush for stubborn residues. Avoid wire brushes, steel wool, scouring powder containing sand, and cleaning sponges with ceramic particles. Dry the cookware well. Lime spots can be removed with vinegar water.

Enamel is very hard. However, hard impacts can lead to the glass surface chipping. If the glass layer on the outside chips, the cookware can continue to be used. If the product chips on the inside, it is recommend you replace it, as optimum hygiene is no longer guaranteed. All Riess products are fully metal-recylable.

Founded in 1550 in Ybbsitz, Austria, this family-owned pan-forge business has been in the Riess family for nine generations. It is known for its top quality enamelware, made in their carbon-neutral facility using locally-generated hydro power along the Ybbs River.

Enamel prevents bacteria growth, is aroma neutral, and is resistant to fruit acid, so it is ideally suited to the kitchen. Enamel is made from iron fused with glass at high temperatures. The non-porous, smooth, cut and scratch-resistant glass surface guarantees perfect hygiene.
